A group of nine of us represented Chard Camera Club at the WCPF Inter‑Club DPI competition on Sunday 8th February at the Exeter Corn Exchange. It was a full and enjoyable day, with 41 clubs taking part and an impressive range of images on show.
Although our own panel was strong, the final scores didn’t quite go our way this year. Nature images scored particularly well across the board, and with only one nature entry in our selection, we were at a slight disadvantage compared with clubs whose panels leaned more heavily in that direction.
That said, the day was far from disappointing. We had the chance to see some superb photography from across the region, and experiences like this are invaluable. They spark ideas, highlight new approaches, and help us continue to grow as photographers. The enthusiasm and support shown by those who attended made the day even more worthwhile.
We’ll take what we’ve learned into next year’s competition and come back stronger, inspired, and full of fresh ideas.
Thank you to everyone who contributed images and to those who made the journey to support the club.
