Why Join Us?

Learn New Skills

Our members are always happy to share their knowledge, and we offer plenty of practical support. Whether you’re just starting out or looking to refine your technique, you’ll find help at every step.

Workshops & Hands‑On Sessions

We run regular workshops, “how‑to” tutorials, and practical evenings covering a wide range of skills — from camera basics to creative editing and specialist genres.

Inspiring Guest Speakers

Our programme features high‑quality visiting speakers from across the UK, offering fresh ideas, expert insight, and new approaches to photography.

Photowalks & Social Outings

During the summer we organise local photowalks and group outings around Chard and South Somerset, usually ending with a relaxed social stop at a nearby pub.

Celebrating Over 60 Years of Photography

Now in its seventh decade, Chard Camera Club continues to foster a love of photography through an engaging mix of talks, workshops, competitions, and practical sessions.

We are proudly affiliated with the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain (PAGB) through the Western Counties Photographic Federation (WCPF). This enables us to host accredited speakers and judges who challenge, inform, and inspire our members throughout the year.

To explore everything we offer, visit the Programme page for full details of upcoming events. For website or membership enquiries, please get in touch via the Contact page.
