Almost everyone enjoys taking photographs these days. However, if you want to develop your skills and take more satisfying photographs, and have fun doing it, joining a camera club is an excellent step.
It doesn’t matter what camera equipment you have; smart phone or the latest mirrorless camera, there is a lot of practical help at hand. Most members are only too happy to share their expertise.
We also run workshops and informal ‘how to do it’ sessions to help you learn new skills and techniques. Our regular programme includes a number of high-quality visiting speakers, aiming to inspire and inform. Talks cover a range of different topics and genres, and you should find plenty of interest.
Last but not least, especially in the summer months, there are group outings and photowalks to local places of interest, finishing up with a convivial session at a convenient pub.
Now in its seventh decade, Chard Camera Club continues to foster a love of photography through an engaging mix of guest speakers, hands-on sessions, and tutorials.
We are proudly affiliated with the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain (PAGB) via the Western Counties Photographic Federation (WCPF), enabling us to host a wide range of accredited speakers and judges who inform, challenge, and inspire our members.
To explore our full programme of events, please visit the Programme tab at the top of the page. For website-related enquiries, feel free to reach out to the Secretary via the Contact page.
We’re always delighted to welcome new members to Chard Camera Club.
If you’d like to see what we’re all about, simply come along to a meeting — your first two sessions are completely free. It’s a relaxed, friendly way to try us out and meet the club.
